First impression: older crowd. Hostess was slammed but we were seated immediately. The decor seems a bit outdated, but there seems to be a positive vibe from the pattons. We have been sottig at the table for about 15 minutes and no one has approached and even asked for our drink order. The service seems extremely rushed and a bit snappy. Perhaps that is reminiscent of France? Regardless, ere in America we expect a smile from the server at the very least. Our drinks were dropped without a word and were left in the bottles instead of poured into our glasses. At this point, inam told that this is an entirely accurate experience if we were looking for French authenticity. Other patrons are complaining of an almost 1 hour wait for food. Like an etherial beig, the scent of people of advanced age is wafting through the air... There is no waiting area, and people are basically standing over us at our table. The order is in and we hae several dishes coming. Appetizers are escargot and Inion soup. Entrees are filet mignon and the auvergnate crepes. The escargot was a bit bland and needed more herbs. Very buttery and plain. The soup is pretty good. The cheese on top was a bit overcooked, but I actually prefer it that way. The entrees were very good. Dessert was blissful. This dining experience was better towards the end than the beginning. Food was good, service was lacking.

I had very high hopes: a small restaurant with a French chef (really French), Fabrice. The menu looked real as well. Contrary to what other reviewers have said, the staff seemed interest and pleasant. i was excited. Unfortunately, the food was really mediocre. the duck a l'orange was VERY tough and not very tasty. the fish was dull and tasteless. In short nothing was very good except for the dessert. the napoleon was delicious. What a shame.

I was looking to try something different on the hot day. I've found this French restraint. It's very mellow inside. I was greeted by a very friendly server unfortunately can't remember her name. My lunch consisted of chicken salad that consisted of pretty fresh and crispy greens. Oh I can't wait to describe this one. I've ordered mussels in creamy curry sauce, it came with a side of French fries. And yum, I've never had mussels like this before, they very totally delicious especially when topped of with fries. After that I couldn't resisted and have order their cream bru le. I will be back again for sure. And have my partner order the mussels and I've heard a lot of goods things about their escargot. This place is definitely worth trying and I guarantee you won't be disappointed in their food.

We really like Le Val de Loire a lot. The owner seems to be a lovely woman and hostess. We always enjoy the food, esp. the escargot and mussels and fish. It's a comfortable place, good music, lots of attention and we've been many times and plan to go in the future.

Absolutely amazing, I'm not one to leave reviews but this place deserves praise. The staff was beyond friendly to the point the owner even walked out with us and held the door open as I believe she did for everyone. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Certainly an all around great atmosphere and experience.

Incredible food in a very comfortable setting. From the soups to the sandwiches to the entrées every time I been there it has been excellent. Great lunch spot.

Best little French restaurant around! The owner is a wonderful lady who is very attentive and such a sweetheart. The food is delicious and fresh. We started off with the Escargot, which was unbelievable. I also had the Soup Du Jour , which was an Asparagus soup (absolutely fantastic). And for my main course I had the Lobster Gratin, which I highly recommend. There was an issue with my desert, but the owner was quick to rectify the situation and made sure that everything was taken care of personally. If you enjoy authentic French cuisine, you must stop here for your next dinner!

Le Val de Lorie is oh so very Frenchie and goodie goodie for me as I happen to be one who delights in French cuisine. Nestled in a strip mall, Le Val de Lorie is a welcome sight amongst the average run of the mill restaurants serving Americanized Chinese foods, quick burgers, pizza or the tailored for the tourist meals. It's clean, neat, with all of the tables nicely set. I started off ordering a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which only turned out to be but one of several I had during the course of my meal. Each glass, I am pleased to report, was decently poured full measure. For my appetizer, the Escargots De Bourgogne which consisted of six snails served in a garlic and parsley butter, and for my entrée the Frog Legs Provençale which came sautéed with garlic and parsley accompanied by rice along with a medley of vegetables. When it comes to frog legs, I've sort of grown with them, having hunted them for years along the banks of the Alleghany River in northwestern Pennsylvania, later in Louisiana and now from time to time here in Florida and the French Provençale style of preparation has always been one of my favorites. Since frog legs are extremely subtle in flavor, if any at all, the heart of meal is in the manner of preparation and the ones a had here were indeed similar to those I have had in the French province regions of the Rhône and Durance valleys. Then, to finish things off I had the Crème Brulee for dessert which was perfectly prepared with a pleasing scorched glaze topping. As for service, unfortunately for a French restaurant, somewhat ambivalent and vacillating.

We had a lovely meal. I had the beef bourguignon, which was plentiful. My husband had liver and onions, which was tender and delicious. The side dishes on our plates were the same -- a scoop of this, a dollop of that. I have a suggestion, however, about the ambiance. Put small shades on the bulbs on the two chandeliers toward the back of the restaurant! The glare in our eyes was unbelievable -- we almost didn't sit down. My husband graciously sat in the seat facing the lights so that I could sit with my back to them. We asked the waiter if the lights were on a dimmer, and if he would consider turning them down. He said he would, but never did. If the lighting is the same the next time, I won't go in.

Terrible Wine list and a waitress who had no knowledge of wine. Food was set on very small plates and the dinner looked crowded. Filet mignon was better than a salmon. No style, no atmosphere

My mom could not stop raving about this place. She took me and my fiancé out for dinner that we were all looking forward to. The place was half full, this season is a lot harder on the tourism industry so we didn't count the attendance as a bad sign. Right off the bat my mother noticed that the usual French waitresses that had been there for over 6 years were gone. A man with a peculiar way about him set up the nice round table in the front for us. The. After that unfortunately it all went downhill. 3 of us ordered the three course dinner special. Mom had French onion soup which was delectable and tasty. My fiancé had the viccysois which was not offensive but tasted curious and was bland in seasoning. I had the escargot which was lacking enough seasoning and garlic. It was just oily parsley. Three of us ordered steak au poiv, medium, which is usually a warm pink. My father ordered lamb chops which were medium. The service at this point was a little sporadic. It looked at first that there was only one man on the floor but eventually another woman appeared that helped to take our order. Finally they brought the main course. Each plate came out with a cafeteria scoop of mashed potatoes and an even smaller cafeteria scoop of carrot purée and a bunch of sautéed something. Each steak was not seasoned at all in addition to being raw in the middle as if parts of it were just seared. The au poiv sauce itself was a joke. It was an unattractive plate of bland lukewarm food. When our waiter came to take some things off the table he smelled like cigarettes. He asked how the food was. We told him how the food wasn't cooked. He seemed confused. We were taken back that it seemed like they didn't care. The best part of the food was the desserts but by then we were done and were ready to leave. Mom ordered coffee and never got it. We paid our check and will never return. This place is taking a steep ride down to its death. Apparently the two waitresses that had always been there stopped working two weeks ago. Mom said this food today was entirely different than what it had been for years. What a shame and what a waste of time and what we had to put our stomachs through for what we ate of this meal.

This is our go to French Restaurant. Country French. Owners are the chef and hostess. Great wine, good prices, excellent food. They have a lobster special that is wonderful. The atmosphere is casual. If you are going as a couple or small party - you cannot go wrong here.

Tried this for the first time and it is a quaint little place. The meals were tasty and it was reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

We tried two of the specials... Braised lamb shank and scallops with saffron cream sauce. Expertly prepared and so delicious. We love this place. It's so consistently wonderful. And the service has always been exquisite... prompt but not over bearing. You feel comfortable and never rushed. Le Val represents great value AND great quality.

Tres bien!! . . . Authentic fresh french cuisine. They don't even have a freezer! Started with garlicky buttery escargot and delicious, cheesy french onion soup. My friends raved about the frog legs and filet of sole. I enjoyed the seafood cassoulet, which was a special. Finished the meal worth flaky, creamy, sweet napoleon. Service was good and the restaurant was cozy and romantic.

I had the mussels, which were bitter, too garlicky and undercooked. Service was surly, disinterested and slowwwwwwww. Everybody else said that their food was mediocre at best

On a recent Saturday evening we ate at La Val de Loire. We were a party of 6 and made our reservation a week before at the time we asked for a certain table in the front of the restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday for a member in our party. We were told first come first served on table, they do not reserve.whenwe arrived we were shown to a table in the rear of the restaurant. When one member of our party who speaks French commented on the undesirable table, the ownerinsultedhim in French. We had eaten here in the past and were looking forward to,a celebratory evening. the service was poor, waitress was rude and admonished us for asking for more bread.. five of us ordered escargot and wanted bread to eat with the appetizer. Each time we asked for bread a few tiny pieces of bread came out. After asking several times the waitress told us we would be charged for the bread since they might not have enough for the other patrons. We had one pleasant server but she ws not able to bring us more bread. Those who ordered the sole were pleased but those who ordered frogs legs were disappointed as they were tough. We had all dined here before and were never treated so badly. We will never go back to this restaurant.

A disaster. Very disappointed. We had eaten there once before. The service was slow but the food was good. The dessert, a Napoleon, was outstanding. Tonight we arrived at 6:45 and the restaurant was fairly busy at about 80% of the tables occupied. We were seated and totally forgotten for over a half hour. No water or bread, just menus slapped down. We heard other tables complaining loudly about not being served. The owner seemed to occupy herself with two tables that were special, and the other two waitresses had to care for all the other tables. After half an hour one of the surly waitresses said she would be back for our order, then went to deal with newly arriving guests and did not return. We appreciate the difficulty in serving a busy restaurant, but not to acknowledge seated customers is inexcusable. We got up to leave and I informed the oblivious owner why we were leaving. She said she was sorry, but they were very busy. If you go, don't expect good service here. Also, don't arrive hungry because you could have a very long wait.

OMG, what a fantastic meal. I will definitely go back, if I get the chance. The waiter was snooty and seemed uninterested. He actually lost our ticket and we had to recreate the order for him after dessert. We did not have to wait for the table. Others, who arrived a half-hour later, did wait outside the restaurant for a while.

Superb! I have to give this place five stars - I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. I went with five other coworkers for a birthday treat for my boss. We went around 1pm and there were three other tables of 2-4 people sitting. The setting is quaint, with a great deal of French framed posters and ads on the walls. The chairs were especially comfortable and there were red glass chandeliers scattered throughout. The menu has very traditional French fare - crepes, escargot, frogs' legs, quiche Lorraine, etc. I ordered a cup of French onion soup, an Auvergnate crepe (chicken, blue cheese, apples, Swiss cheese), and I shared a Napoleon and an apple tart with the table for dessert. The meal also came with a bread basket and real butter. I have to say: crepe was very, very rich. The blue cheese was entirely melted and the crepe itself was very thin and crisp around the edges. The apple was thoroughly cooked and creamy, and the chicken was all-white meat and moist. This medley made for a creamy, light and yet very filling main course. My fellow diners were presented with delicious salads made with real greens, and the vegetable soup was allegedly "very good". My French onion soup came with the melted cheese top deftly melted to a coffee-colored brown. The bread inside and served to us was also homemade. The Napoleon was worth saving room for. It was a dessert consisting of two layers, one of a vanilla cream pudding and the other by a lighter cream, slightly thicker than whipped cream. It was offset by crispy, flaky phillo pastry and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Divine. We had one server who was able to perfectly gauge when our water glasses needed refilling - always at the halfway mark. Our food came out hot and everyone was very pleased. Our lunch lasted over an hour, peaceful and fantastically delicious. I would recommend this for a first date (you will probably spend $20-25 per person, depending on what is ordered) or for a group of friends looking to celebrate in a relaxed, quiet setting.

I came here for lunch and had an outstanding vegetable crepe and pear tart for desert. Atmosphere is French bistro, menu is diverse - they have calves liver and frogs legs along with more standard fare such as quiche. The bread here is something I haven't tasted in a long time, perfectly light and crispy crust with just enough tooth in the bread. My crepe was light and subtly flavored. The filling was sauteed spinach and mushrooms with carmelized onion. It was perfect. The crepe was topped with a slice of gruyere cheese, just enough to give it a little density. The service was polite and prompt - this is an oasis of calm and lovely in a strip mall.

We went to Le Val De Loire for New Year's Eve. To put things in perspective, I'm from out of town and French food usually wouldn't be my choice. Another member of my party made the reservation so my expectations were somewhat limited. We showed up over 1/2 hour late for our reservation. I won't go into the reason. I expected to be turned away. Instead the staff were very gracious. There was no mention of being late and we were immediately seated. I thought the service would be rushed but it was quite the opposite. Courses were well paced and the staff were unobtrusive. There was a fixed price menu with 4 or 5 choices per course. Every one at our table chose a different main course; all were enjoyed. The starters and desserts were also delicious. Servings were just right. We were not all drinking but those of us who did, had wine by the glass. These were priced reasonably. In sum, my experience was very positive and not something I really expected on New Year's Eve. I had the feeling that the management and staff really cared about their patrons' experience. If you're in the area, Le Val De Loire is worth checking out.

French restaurant and creperie serving lunch and dinner. High-quality food, reasonable prices. They offer salads, sandwiches, and pate for lunch in addition to smaller portions of their dinner entrees. I went with a co-worker and he enjoyed the beef bourguignon. Other interesting entrees include calves liver lyonnaise, frog legs Provencal, and chicken Francaise. The lunch entrees include soup or salad and dessert. They have many varieties of crepes - I recommend the Campagnarde crepes, with potatoes, sausage, caramelized onions and Swiss cheese. Other crepe choices are Bergere (goat cheese, tomatoes, basil, and Swiss cheese), Auvergnate (chicken, blue cheese, apples, Swiss cheese), Seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels, lobster sauce, Swiss cheese), and Alaska (crabmeat, sauce, Swiss cheese). Dinner selections include the lunch entrees mentioned above plus roast duckling, rack of lamb, and fillet Mignon. They offer a sunset (early bird) menu with reduced pricing. Dessert offerings include a variety of tarts, cakes, and crepes, plus peach melba and banana foster.
